Play Pickleball in Findlay, Ohio

Findlay has a strong mix of free public courts, organized instruction, and year-round indoor play. Riverside Park is the center of the local outdoor scene with eight dedicated courts, while the YMCA East Branch offers four indoor courts and reservable play. The University of Findlay added four more outdoor courts in 2025.

Where to Play Pickleball in Findlay

Riverside Park Courts

Address: 231 McManness Avenue, Findlay, OH 45840.

Riverside Park has eight free dedicated outdoor hard courts with permanent lines and nets. Restrooms and drinking water are available, and the large court bank supports both casual games and organized events. The surrounding park also has a playground, pool, trails, river access, and picnic areas, making this Findlay's best all-purpose pickleball destination.

Findlay YMCA East Branch

Address: 1400 Manor Hill Road, Findlay, OH 45840.

The YMCA sets up four indoor courts with permanent lines and portable nets. Members can reserve walk-on, daily, or recurring court time in person or online. Regional nonmembers may purchase up to three $10 day passes per calendar year when unaccompanied; guests accompanied by a member receive up to three visits before membership is required. Branch hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Rawson Park

Address: 523 River Street, Findlay, OH 45840.

Rawson Park has four free dedicated outdoor asphalt courts with permanent lines and nets, plus restrooms. It is a useful smaller alternative when Riverside's eight courts are occupied by a league or tournament.

University of Findlay Pickleball Courts

Address: University of Findlay campus, 1000 North Main Street, Findlay, OH 45840.

The university opened four outdoor courts in its College Park area in 2025. The courts host the Oil Can Classic and expand central Findlay's tournament capacity.

Pickleball Lessons in Findlay

Findlay Parks and Recreation partners with experienced Findlay Pickle Ball Club members to teach clinics at Riverside Park during spring, summer, and fall. The outdoor setting lets beginners learn on regulation dedicated courts and move directly into local group play. For clinic registration, call Parks and Recreation at 419-424-7137. Private instruction is also available through the Coaches section.

Open Play and Tournaments

YMCA player-organized open play commonly occupies late-morning and early-afternoon blocks, with recent sessions running from 10:30 or 11:30 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. The University of Findlay's Oil Can Classic is a two-day round-robin and bracket tournament with beginner, intermediate, and advanced divisions; the 2026 edition ran June 25 and 26, with the YMCA East Branch as its rain site. Riverside Park hosts community events as well, including the Hancock County campaign kickoff tournament scheduled for September 10, 2026, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.

What Visiting Players Should Know

Riverside Park is the default outdoor stop: enter at 231 McManness Avenue and arrive with paddles and balls because all eight nets are permanent. Rawson Park provides four more free courts nearby. On wet or cold days, the YMCA has a clear $10 limited-use day-pass route for unaccompanied regional visitors, and its courts can be reserved. Call the East Branch at 419-422-9922 to arrange access.
